Vulkan targets high-performance realtime 3D graphics applications such as video games and interactive media across all platforms. The next generation API aims to deliver a better programming interface that allows more access to the hardware available on various platforms which include PCs, Smartphones and Consoles. Testing done by AMD Performance Labs March 2nd 2017 using an Intel Core i7 6700K (@4.0GHz), 1x8GB DDR4-2667 MHz memory, AMD web driver 17.1, Intel Display Driver 20.19.15.4590 and Windows 10 (64bit). With ultra preset settings on Strange Brigade using the DirectX12 API, at 3840x2160, the Radeon RX Vega 56 scored 50.8 FPS with async compute disabled, whereas the Radeon RX Vega 56 scored 53.9 FPS with async compute enabled.
